1988 Ford Sierra XR4x4

Engine: Modified Airbox, K&N Filter, Modified metering head, Ferrari Mondial QV injectors, modified warm up regulator, ‘ported’ and enlarged inlet manifold, ported cylinder heads (as Dave Walker’s Fast car article), 1 off cam copied from US Crane profile with wider LCA for injection – ground by AES in Norfolk, Alloy water pump, VC fan removed, Group A exhaust Manifolds with Power Engineering system.

 

Transmission: Type 9 gearbox, 2.3 Diesel gear ratios, larger layshaft bearings, Quaife input shaft bearing, Alloy casing top with revised breather assembly, fully synthetic oil, quickshift.

 

Suspension: Sierra Cosworth 4x4 springs and anti-roll bars, Koni shock absorbers, Front TCA’s are rare ‘uniball’ inner bush with poly outer bush, Group N (3-door Cosworth spec) diff’ mount. RS Turbo series one wheels with 205/50/15 tyres. Tarox front discs, with Kevlar pads all round, ABS.

 

Interior: Full Sapphire Cosworth interior, with Cosworth 3 door leather wheel.

 

Body: Steel front strut brace, Quad headlamp conversion (GRP mount, Cibie outers and Hella inners, blue sidelight bulbs from Ford Scorpio), clear front indicators, Heated screen.
